What is coracoacromial ligament?

The coracoacromial ligament is a strong, fibrous band of tissue that spans between the coracoid process and the acromion of the shoulder blade. It helps to stabilize and support the shoulder joint by preventing excessive upward movement of the humerus.

Injury to the coracoacromial ligament can result in shoulder pain, instability, and limited range of motion. This can occur as a result of overuse, trauma, or degenerative changes in the ligament.

Treatment for a coracoacromial ligament injury may include rest, ice, physical therapy, and in some cases, surgery to repair or reconstruct the ligament. It is important to seek medical attention if you suspect you have injured your coracoacromial ligament to prevent further damage and promote proper healing.
